About Us
Meet The Owners
Welcome to Laurel Court Cottages. We’re thrilled to share a little bit about ourselves and what drives us to make your stay a memorable one.
Matthew and Kimberley Franek are the proud owners and hosts. As avid travelers, we share a passion for creating welcoming spaces, providing exceptional service, and meeting wonderful guests from all over the world. Our story is long but here’s how we arrived to our little house on a hill and the Laurel Court Cottage project. When Kim and I first met at Southwest Texas State University we frequently made day trips to Fredericksburg and visited Kim’s family ranch. Ever since, the hill country has been our home for the majority of our 30-year marriage. Our daughter Savanah Grace was born in 2003 and our son Cash Wyatt came into the world in 2011. After a long 6 month stay in NICU and learning what life looked like with a special-needs child, we finally made Fredericksburg our home. We fell deeply for the community and land, but the Lord had other plans. A move to Boerne for Cash’ medical needs lasted 6 years but eventually we got back to Gillespie County and to our current location. We decided to turn our dream of running a cozy, charming bed and breakfast into a reality when we discovered this beautiful property. With a shared commitment to offering a home away from home, we transformed it into a peaceful retreat for travelers seeking comfort, fun and local charm.
In addition to acting as the “Innkeeper”, Matthew is a partner of Texas Ranch Kings Realty, if you are considering purchasing property, give him a call. Kim owns the Dental Assisting School of Texas and Savanah(21) is one of New Braunfels newest teachers. Cash(13) tells us all what to do. LOL.
Our Mission
We are committed to making every guest feel like part of our extended family. We pride ourselves on providing personalized attention, and unique touches that make your stay exceptional. Whether you’re here for a romantic getaway, a friends’ weekend, or a peaceful solo retreat, we aim to make your experience special and unforgettable. We’ve carefully curated each room and space with comfort in mind, blending classic charm and rustic comfort with luxurious touches to create an atmosphere of relaxation and serenity. We want you to feel right at home during your stay with us.
You will notice hearts throughout the grounds-some hanging from trees, others in the form of a lock. These represent our love for those living with Cerebral Palsy and other diagnoses. Any donation of $10 or more earns a heart lock. You are welcome to keep it or lock it on any of our Garden of Giving trellis’. 100% of proceeds will be donated to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation or Camp Beloved and Beyond and during March which is Cerebral Palsy awareness month, we will match all donations up to $100 each.
Why We Do It
We both believe in the power of genuine hospitality and the joy that comes from meeting new people and sharing our love for the area. Couple that with the hope to spread awareness about Cerebral Palsy, a game of Pickleball and a little humor-you have what we believe is the best stay in Fredericksburg. We are dedicated to ensuring that every guest leaves with fond memories and a desire to return.
Thank you for choosing Laurel Court Cottages. We look forward to welcoming you into our home and helping make your stay unforgettable. If there is anything we can do to assist in making your trip memorable, please email us at info@laurelcourtcottages.com
